Scope claim · Nothing would count as failing it
“Painless” and “for all skin types”
The screening: who it isn’t for, and the intake conversation that would find that out.
Wording it covers
The claim reader flags phrases like these, wherever they appear in an ad:
- “painless”
- “safe for all skin types”
- “suitable for everyone”
- “gentle enough for anyone”
- “works for everyone”
What would back it up
- The device or product, and the settings for your skin
- How they screen skin type and history before treating
- Who they say it isn’t suitable for, in their own words
The question to ask
How do you screen my skin type and history before treating, and who is this not suitable for?
Can it be checked?
Nothing would count as failing it. No answer could count against it, so asking about it tends to get the same sentence back. Ask about something you can check instead.
Scope. A claim about who it suits. Ask what screening happens before it’s offered to you.
