APRN stands for advanced practice registered nurse. Nurse practitioners are one of its roles.

Nursys QuickConfirm lists certified nurse practitioner (CNP) among the license types it can return, alongside clinical nurse specialist, certified nurse midwife and certified registered nurse anesthetist.
