What “medical director” and “physician-led” leave open
Whether the doctor is in the building, how often, and whether they’ll ever see you. The role is named; the person and their involvement aren’t.

The claim reader flags phrases like these, wherever they appear in an ad:
- “medical director”
- “physician-led”
- “physician-owned”
- “physician-supervised”
- “doctor-led”
What would back it up
- The medical director’s name and license number
- How often they are on site
- Whether they review charts, including yours
The question to ask
Who is the medical director by name, are they on site while I’m treated, and do they review my chart?
Can it be checked?
Could be measured. This is a real question with a real answer. Ask it, and ask for the answer in writing.
Credential. A statement about qualification. Ask for the license and the board that issued it.
