Commercial claim · Could be measured
Specials and per-unit prices
The product, the amount, and who gives it to you. A rate or a discount isn’t a total.
Wording it covers
The claim reader flags phrases like these, wherever they appear in an ad:
- “special”
- “deal”
- “20% off”
- “BOGO”
- “package of 3”
- “$12 per unit”
What would back it up
- Which product, and how many units or syringes
- Who administers it, under which license
- Whether the discounted product is the same as the full-price one
The question to ask
Which product, how many units, what’s the total, and who gives it to me, with what license?
Can it be checked?
Could be measured. This is a real question with a real answer. Ask it, and ask for the answer in writing.
Commercial. A term of the sale. Ask for it in writing before any money moves.
